Epigenetic Cancer Therapy

Epigenetic alterations are potentially reversible. Scientists are taking advantage of this mechanism to inhibit these epigenomic enzyme expressions as an emerging therapy for cancer.
Examples of epigenomic expressions that could be used as epigenetic therapy are:
  • Demethylating agents
  • DNA methylation inhibitors
  • Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors
  • Lysine methylation
  • Changing RNA modification
