Employer Responsibility

Your healthcare facility has a responsibility to educate you about chemical hazards and safe procedures that will prevent injuries. You should have also received training from your employer on the new GHS label elements and safety data sheets (SDS), if you have hazardous chemicals in your workplace.
Hazard Communication Standard requirements for your healthcare facility include:
  • A formal hazard communication program
  • Labels and other forms of warnings
  • Safety data sheets (SDSs)
  • Information, communication, and education
