A buyer-supplier network is a collaboration. Customers and suppliers are joined together via a network where information, technologies, and best practices are shared. The objective is to reduce costs and improve efficiency for everyone involved. This is especially timely as the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world that supply chains can be easily cut or dissolved altogether. Supply chain resilience is becoming a priority since the pandemic.
An example of this type of network might be a global internet supplier network that serves buyers and suppliers alike. Or, think of the federal government, where the GSA (General Services Administration) connects federal purchasers with the highest quality products/services for the most competitive costs.12 Both approved buyers and suppliers can register online to participate.
