Sample Storage Temperature

Likewise, delays in analysis following the arrival and preparation of samples should cause the laboratory to look for methods to retain sample integrity and minimize the variability associated with storage time.
Where batch testing is employed or analytical runs are infrequent, the laboratory should conduct temperature studies as to the optimal storage conditions (ambient, refrigerated, frozen, or even deep-frozen) to retain the concentration or activity of the analyte(s) of interest. The goal of such stability testing is to establish time limits at each storage temperature.
