Contaminated work surfaces should be decontaminated with an appropriate disinfectant:
  • At the completion of a procedure involving blood or OPIM
  • Immediately or as soon as feasible when surfaces are overtly contaminated
  • After any spill of blood or other potentially infectious materials
  • At the end of each work shift, if the surface may have become contaminated since the last cleaning
Additional tips:
  • At the beginning of your shift:
    • Clean your computer keyboard and mouse by wiping with a disinfectant wipe
  • Access supply and procedure carts with clean hands only
