Contaminated work surfaces should be decontaminated with an appropriate disinfectant:
- At the completion of a procedure involving blood or OPIM
- Immediately or as soon as feasible when surfaces are overtly contaminated
- After any spill of blood or other potentially infectious materials
- At the end of each work shift, if the surface may have become contaminated since the last cleaning
Additional tips:
- At the beginning of your shift:
- Clean your computer keyboard and mouse by wiping with a disinfectant wipe
- Access supply and procedure carts with clean hands only
