Quality Control (QC) is typically matrix-matched liquid material containing analytes at a pre-defined concentration. QC is analyzed as an unknown and its concentration is determined by the calibration completed at a time point prior to QC analysis.
QC values for specific QC levels can be plotted over time and help laboratory professionals determine the stability of their assay. Most importantly, changes in an assay over time may necessitate recalibration in order to more accurately associate the analyzer response to the actual concentration of the analytes of interest. The accompanying image depicts QC values over multiple analyses and demonstrates a high level of assay stability.
