Interpretation of the test:
The appearance of a vertical blue line on both the “Ag line” and the “Toxin line” in the reaction window and a dotted blue control line indicates a positive test for the C diff GDH antigen and toxins A and/or B. This is reported out as positive for toxigenic C diff. (See below)
C Diff Quik Chek Complete®: Positive for toxigenic C. difficile
The lack of a vertical blue line in both the “Ag line” and “Toxin line” and a dotted blue control line indicates the absence of both the GDH antigen and toxins A and B. This is reported out as negative for toxigenic C diff. (See below)
C Diff Quik Chek Complete®: Negative for Toxigenic C. difficile
The appearance of a vertical blue line only on the “Ag line” and not on the “Toxin line” and a dotted blue control line in the reaction window indicates a positive test only for the GDH antigen and not for the C diff toxins A or B. This is reported out as a potential carrier and the result should be interpreted using clinical judgment. (See below)
C Diff Quik Chek Complete®: Potential carrier. Interpret using clinical judgment.
The appearance of a vertical dotted blue line on the “control line” indicates that the test is working properly and the results should be valid.
