The internal environment is also important, not just to the individual employee's health and well-being, but feeling good and working more efficiently sometimes go hand-in-hand. One example is having windows in the lab, which will be discussed later.
Reviewing factors such as noise, vibrations, odors, and lighting are important and may reflect choices of building design, instrumentation, and methods of testing.
Social performance issues are also important such as records of injuries or illnesses, safety and security, and other conditions that affect laboratorians.
