- The time of collection
- Days of abstinence
- Location at which specimen was collected: clinic or home
- Collection or transport problems (e.g., incomplete specimen, specimen exposure to cold temperatures)
- Method of collection
- Abnormalities of liquefaction
- Time of specimen receipt and analysis
