Donning a disposable face mask:
- Face masks will typically be ‘1 size fits all’.
- Place mask over mouth and nose and strap around the back of ears.
- Adjust the nose piece, if adjustable. Face masks should fit snugly but will not be considered tight fitting for respiratory protection against bacteria and viruses.
Doffing a disposable face mask:
- Do not touch the mask's exterior/front-facing portion, as this may be the most potentially contaminated.
- Carefully untie or unhook from ears and firmly grab the elastic side bands with both hands.
- Gently and slowly pull the mask away from the face and discard it into the waste container.
