Laboratory Specific PPE Policies

Appropriate PPE will be required when there is a potential for exposure to hazardous materials such as hazardous chemicals and infectious (biohazardous) substances.
Proper PPE and laboratory attire help minimize the potential for skin exposure to hazardous chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials.
Laboratories must develop and implement lab-specific PPE policies and practices based on lab-specific risk assessments to ensure a safe workplace.
