Latex gloves provide hand protection from the risk of exposure to biological hazards and potentially infectious material. They do not provide adequate protection against many chemical hazards.
Since latex can cause allergic reactions and sensitivities in some individuals, many institutions substitute latex gloves with nitrile.
Latex gloves should not be reused.
