Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA): Clinical Applications

PSA has been widely and successfully used as a tumor marker for prostate cancer and has utility in:
  • Early detection of prostate cancer
  • Staging of prostate cancer
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of treatment
  • Monitoring for recurrence
Each application will briefly discuss how the same component may be used at several stages of the disease process to guide a physician from diagnosis through treatment monitoring.
