Xylene Versus Xylene Substitutes

Xylene substitutes are now widely available and can provide an additional layer of safety to your laboratory. Keep in mind that they do come with their own set of limitations, such as a low tolerance for water. It may also be necessary to use a compatible mounting media as recommended by the manufacturer, as not all of them are compatible with typical xylene-based mountants.
