Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has specific clinical laboratory requirements for emergency preparedness. Those requirements and regulations are outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Final Rule. The goal of these regulations is to prepare laboratories to maintain patient access to health care services, including human resources, business continuity, and physical resources. CMS and its emergency regulations will be discussed in detail later in the course.
