24 CFR § 483.73) has defined elements that are essential in preparing for an emergency event:
- Emergency Plan
- Perform an all-hazards risk assessment.
- Policies and Procedures
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the laboratory based on identified risks.
- Communication Plan
- Develop and implement an emergency communications plan.
- Training and Testing
- Develop and implement a training and testing program.
- Emergency and Standby Power Systems
- Ensure backup power systems are prepared and available for use.
