Antiseptic

Alcohol-based hand rubs are an example of an antiseptic. An antiseptic is a substance that prevents microorganisms' growth or action by inhibiting or destroying their activity. The term is used primarily for preparations applied topically to living tissue.
To be effective against some types of pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2, hand sanitizers must have a strength of at least 60% alcohol and be used when hands are not visibly dirty.
Do not use hand sanitizer to disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
