Examples of physical safeguards include:
- Storing ePHI on cloud and network hard drives only
- Limiting the use of portable media, such as USBs
- No personal USB's should be used
- Forbidding ePHI on personal devices
- Properly disposing of electronic media by wiping data on hard drives or by physically destroying portable media
- If your job requires travel, never leave work computers or PHI in your car
