American Board of Pathology (ABPath)

The American Board of Pathology (ABPath) is a private, non-profit certification organization that has provided board exams and certifications for American and Canadian laboratory physicians since 1936.
The Continuing Certification (CC) Program provides continuous professional development throughout a laboratory professional's career. It assists professionals in maintaining compliance and regulation standards in pathology. After the initial board certification, CC requires monitoring of a professional's competency, according to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). CC requirements are renewed every 10 years.
