To become certified, future laboratory professionals must complete the appropriate education from an accredited program or institution. Below are some of the organizations and the educational programs they accredit:
National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
  • Histotechnician/Histotechnologist
  • Cytogenetics
  • Diagnostic Molecular Science (Technologist in Molecular Biology)
