Essential Equipment and Tools for Gross Photography

The following items are essential tools and equipment needed for performing gross photography in an anatomic practice:
  1. Camera and macro ring light
  2. A shutter release cable or a wireless remote shutter control
  3. Remote monitor for the camera
  4. Gross pathology photography stand
  5. Column stand of at least 40 inches with an adjustable camera arm
  6. Specimen stage
  7. Lens cleaning solution and a cleaning cloth
  8. Board for background
  9. Scale-bar (scale should be placed inferior to the specimen and have unit of measure designation)
  10. Ruler/Label (should contain case identification number)
  11. Pointer (to indicate an area of interest)
