TAP Blood Collection Device

With 15 years of innovation, YourBio Health, Inc. developed the TAP Device with HALO™ technology, a sterilized whole blood specimen collection device designed to collect capillary whole blood. The TAP device is placed on an individual’s upper arm, and blood collection starts with a simple press of a button. The microneedle array quickly punctures the skin, and the device applies a gentle vacuum to the collection site to draw the sample into the device and down into the sample tube. Once collection is complete the sample tube is easily detached from the TAP device for transportation to a central laboratory for analytical testing.
The sample must be tested within 6 hours from the time of collection.
At this time, the device is approved for adults, 21 years of age or older, and the collected specimen is used to test for a variety of different analytes under investigational use only (IUO).
One main advantage of the TAP device is that the specimen can be collected by a layperson at home or a health care worker in a healthcare setting, offering the patient flexible care options.
