19. Had syphilis or gonorrhea or been treated for syphilis or gonorrhea?
Potential donors who have had or been treated for syphilis or gonorrhea are deferred for 3 months following the completion of their treatment regimen. This includes persons who have had a reactive screening test for syphilis where no confirmation test was performed. Donors who tested positive for syphilis and were not treated are indefinitely deferred.
