Testing Personnel Qualifications for Moderate and High Complexity Testing

Testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing and handling, test performance, and result reporting. Each testing personnel should perform only duties as authorized by the laboratory director and appropriate for the individual's training, experience, and abilities.

1. MD, DO, or DPM -- must possess a current license to practice in the state where the laboratory is located.
2. OR Doctors, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited program.
3. OR Associate's degree in a chemistry, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science.
4. High school diploma or equivalent AND completion of official military medical laboratory procedures course and experience a military Medical Laboratory Specialty, OR documentation of training for required skills to perform duties in the laboratory setting.
5. AND possess a current state license, if required.
