Euthyroid: Definition

The term "euthyroid" refers to a thyroid gland that is functioning "true," producing adequate amounts of thyroid hormone in response to stimuli from the pituitary. Euthyroid is also used to categorize patients whose laboratory results for assessing thyroid function fall within the laboratory's reference interval.
