A complete patient history (including diagnosis, medications, and transfusion history) can provide beneficial information to aid in the identification of the causative autoantibody.
Many symptoms are possible as a result of autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Some common symptoms, which can present as mild to severe, include:
- Fatigue
- Jaundice
- Shortness of breath
- Hemoglobinemia
- Hemoglobinuria
- Splenomegaly
