Zika Virus Infection Management for Women Wanting to Become Pregnant

If a woman anticipates becoming pregnant, the CDC recommendations include these three important measures:
  1. Take steps to prevent mosquito bites.
  2. Take steps to prevent obtaining Zika through sex.
  3. Consult with a physician or other healthcare provider about the risk of Zika infection during pregnancy, your partner's potential exposure to Zika, and any travel plans to areas with a high rate of Zika infections.
