Formaldehyde is used to preserve tissue that is removed during surgeries, endoscopies, and autopsies. It is therefore found in surgery suites, endoscopy suites, autopsy suites, surgical pathology areas, histology areas, and anywhere else that tissue needs to be preserved for processing.
