Small Surface Spills

If a small spill of blood or other potentially infectious materials occurs on a work surface, always be sure you put on the appropriate personal protective equipment before proceeding with decontamination and clean-up procedures. It is best to use puncture-resistant utility gloves for spill clean-up.
Use the decontamination and cleaning method that is approved by your facility. Be aware of the potential for splatter and contamination.
