Interference in LA Testing

Understanding the impact of oral direct thrombin and Xa inhibitors on lupus anticoagulant testing is important. Dabigatran, rivaroxaban, and enoxaparin have been shown to affect LA testing in screening, mixing, and confirmatory testing. LA testing should NOT be performed on patients using these drugs. This will result in false positive LA testing.
