Clinical Laboratory Services and Effectiveness

Clinical laboratories are effective when they provide services that will benefit patients. Effective laboratories perform testing only when a sample is adequate and appropriate for testing. They use evidence-based methods to establish how often a test should be performed during a hospitalization, and they remove antiquated and ineffective testing methodologies from the testing menu.
