Ambient or Room Temperature Specimens

Technically speaking, the term "room temperature" indicates the temperature inside a specific building or room, while "ambient temperature" means the temperature of the surrounding area. These terms are used synonomously.
It is fair to say that most laboratory specimens will be handled and transported at ambient or room temperature.
Laboratory professionals are taught that room or ambient temperature is the common term to denote a specified temperature within an enclosed space, such as a room or even an entire building. Room temperature is between 15º to 25º C (59º to 77º F).
