Promptly clean up minor spills. Know the location of the chemical spill kits in the laboratory and consult the SDS or container label for the proper PPE that should be worn when containing a spill.
Dispose of waste properly.
In the event of a major spill of a hazardous chemical, follow your laboratory's emergency response plan. Do not attempt to clean up the spill unless you have been appropriately trained and are authorized to do so.
