The best course of action to learn if CRISPR/Cas9 or CRISPR/Cpf1 has accurately edited the gene or genes of interest is DNA sequencing. High throughput with high accuracy, capable of whole genome sequencing as well as focused regional sequencing, next-generation sequencing (NGS) is the go-to technology.38,39
Of note, CRISPR-mediated gene editing for cancer treatment as a stand-alone exploration is a burgeoning field of studies in basic research as well as in translational research laboratories. More detailed information is expected in the coming decade.
