The underproduction of pituitary hormones can also lead to serious endocrine disorders and disturbances.
Some of these conditions include:
- Hypogonadism - caused by diminished production or excretion of LH and FSH
- Infertility - caused by diminished production or excretion of LH and FSH
- Secondary Hypothyroidism - caused by decreased production of TSH
- Lactation failure - inadequate production or release of PRL
- Pituitary dwarfism - insufficient production of GH
When all pituitary hormones are underproduced, the condition is referred to as "panhypopituitarism."
