Prolactin Control and Feedback

Prolactin enables female mammals to produce milk from the mammary glands of a mother.
In humans, the stimulus of a baby's cry or sucking the nipple of the breast signals sensory receptors in the brain that trigger the hypothalamus which then stimulates the anterior pituitary to produce prolactin.
