Author Information:
Alec Saitman, PhD, DABCC (CC, TC), completed PhD training in total synthetic organic chemistry at the University of California, San Diego. He then completed fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology in the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Saitman is board-certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry. He is currently the Technical Director of the LabCorp Core Laboratory in Portland, Oregon. His areas of interest include laboratory stewardship and laboratory informatics. He is particularly interested in establishing efficient test implementation workflows in toxicology testing to meet the growing testing demands in his laboratory. He also serves as a CAP inspection leader and CAP inspector and has been involved in many CAP inspections of large reference laboratories.Reviewer Information: Laurie Bjerklie, MA, MLS(ASCP)CM, is a Lead Education Developer. She earned a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of North Dakota and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Xavier University. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education and has held program director and faculty positions in both MLT and MLS programs.
