In the case of non-megaloblastic macrocytic anemia, the patient can have the typical signs of anemia such as fatigue, paleness, shortness of breath, etc. Other symptoms would be related to the cause of macrocytic anemia. Examples include symptoms of alcoholism, liver disease, hypothyroidism, drugs, or the many other possible causes of non-megaloblastic macrocytic anemia.
