The Ideal Tumor Marker Would Have 100% Sensitivity

Ideally, a tumor marker would be detectable as soon as cancerous cells begin to divide and would be detected in every case where the cancer exists. As such, the ideal tumor marker would have applications as a screening tool where elevations at early stages of cancer growth would most likely be localized and have an increased likelihood of being curable.
