Efforts to Lower Hepatitis Rates

The CDC's Division of Viral Hepatitis has developed a strategic plan in conjunction with the World Health Organization. Their goal is to bring together clinicians, virologists, and public-health officials to develop policies and practices that should help reduce the morbidity and mortality of viral hepatitis. Their goals are to:
  1. Decrease the incidence and prevalence of viral hepatitis
  2. Lower the morbidity and mortality rates of viral hepatitis
  3. Reduce viral hepatitis-related health disparities
New testing modalities or screening schemes are being proposed to help achieve the above goals. The following pages describe some of these ideas and efforts.
